Amanda Sasek is an over-comer. Before being named Miss Kansas 2014, Amanda lost her father to suicide at the age of 17, she battled her way out of poverty, and she won the struggle against an eating disorder. In her words, “I’m a living example that this organization is not stunting the growth of women… But rather, it’s doing quite the opposite… Empowering them and giving them opportunities like never before.” We couldn’t have said it any better.
