One of the things I love most about National pageants is the opportunity to find a “forever friend.” And while you may call it “stalking” – It’s my job to notice ladies whose friendships grow beyond the Miss America stage! This year, Junkies absolutely fell in love with Miss Wyoming Mikala Shaw and her obvious friendship with Miss Hawaii, Jeanne Kappula! 🙂
On Mikaela’s Facebook page, she recognized how awesome her future friendship with Jeanne would become…
“Although I didn’t walk away from Miss America with a crown, I did walk away with an amazing new friend @misshawaiiorg! I can’t wait to travel to Hawii at the end of January and see her again! ✈️”

As far as we can tell, Mikaela is the first violinist to compete at Miss America from the state of Wyoming… And we know she’s going to be successful, given the fact that she’s already a graduate of the University of Wyoming and will be headed towards her Master’s in Marketing in the near future!
All the best Mikaela! Junkies hope you and Jeanne have many more chances to create awesome memories in both of your lives!
